She has some problems with her teeth and might be pregnant but if so ut has only been a week. The vets at pets at home said it is too early to tell if she is pregnant and she might need a tooth extraction however they can not do anything until they know if she is pregnant or not as they can't put her under anesthetic if she is. If she is pregnant the father is her biological brother who also fathered her first and only litter. Her first litter did not survive, presumably due to her not giving them enough milk.
She is considered by the vet slightly underweight. They have recomended she eat more however I can't get her to eat much right now as she refuses to get on with my other cat despite her only ever living with other cats. She has never been introduced to any dogs and is a mostly indoor cat by choice.
She is cuddly and loves attention aswell as birdwatching. Her first owners named her Ruby but we changed it to Misty as she better responds to that name. If you want to rename her you can.
Previous owner believes they got her in either June or August, Vet has placed her pressumed birthday as 29th June. She's either 5yrs turning 6 in June 2025 or turning 5.
History:
She d with 2 boys, 1 of which was adopted elsewhere recently and the previous owner could not look after her due to being in the hospital frequently. I was told I might be her last option and that they would most likely have to abandon her. Upon hearing this i took her that same day, we went to the vet for a checkup which is how her tooth problem was discovered. She was excessively dribbling and foaming a little at the mouth so we had the vet check her mouth. The vet said she has a few cracked teeth and one that may need extracting due to swelling. They said other than that her dribbling was most likely stress as we believe it was her first time leaving the house/garden. I cannot keep her if she is not getting on with my first cat as it is causing him a lot of stress and he is no longer eating. She has also tried to swipe at his face a few times because he is curious and has gotten too close. At the moment she likes to hide and is very quiet and skittish unless she can see my other cat then she growls constantly. My other cat is male so me and my partner believe she may be trying to protect herself and her possible litter from him as they also aren't very familiar yet. They tend to just stare at eachother from across the room whilst she growls and hisses at him.
I can not afford her vet bills and do not have room for her litter if she is pregnant. Therefore I am quite certain I am going to have to rehome her.
