He is very cuddly, sleepy, very soft, very funny and a proper character!
He does pull on the lead and we had started some training with him with training lead and harness (see video) but have been having to travel and kennel so this training has fallen by the wayside. Frenchies generally can't walk long distances and not in even moderate heat so something to be aware of. He can sit, lie down, high five. He also understands get down, leave it, jump up, and comes when called at home/garden etc, never tried him off lead.
He is a big boy at around 18kg last time he was weighed. He hasnt been neutered yet as we were waiting until he was 2yrs old, but he went for his health check recently for it and given all clear. He has never been studded etc, he is 100% our family pet. He does have an intolerance to chicken, and beef which shows up in an itchy ear. We currently have him on Tails hypoallergenic food (fish) and he is absolutely fine on it, no issues now with his ears unless he eats something he is not supposed to! If this happens we have some powder treatment which we pop in his ear and it clears right up.
He is up to date on all his vaxs including kennel cough, and he is treated for fleas and worms monthly. He is microchipped. I have all records.
He is a FANTASTIC dog and this has been the hardest decision to make as he is a member of our family, but the changes in circumstance and the amount we are having to take him to daycare/kennels just doesnt seem fair, and the issues with him guarding food when we have small children are not a risk we are willing to take when they're both young and so much food around and lack of time as a family at home to work through it with him.
Only forever homes with people who can give him the time and stimulation will be considered. We would prefer him to be homed without young children for the reasons above, and with those won't be leaving him at home whilst out at work for full days etc.
He is at times left for max 3-4 hours at the moment (crated), and every day for school runs etc and is absolutely fine, but anymore than that maximum and we put him in daycare as don't think it's fair to leave a dog without access to toilet etc for any longer.
We would provide the food /treats/toys/bed/crate/leads/harnesses/collars etc etc etc so that he has all his comforts.
We also wouldn't be able/willing to take him back due to our circumstances, so anyone enquiring would need to be 100% sure on commitment to owning a dog and all the things mentioned above.
