Meet Mochi! Mochi has been a lucky boy and has spent some time in foster with one of our amazing carers! Here's what Mochi's carer has to say about him:
Mochi is not just any dog-he's a total gem. He's super friendly, affectionate, and absolutely loves meeting new people and other dogs. His loving nature is contagious, and it's been a joy watching him grow and learn during our time together. Mochi is a 4-year-old Japanese Spitz with a soft, fluffy white coat and a smile that could melt anyone's heart. His bright, sparkly eyes and playful spirit make him an absolute joy to be around.
Whether it's cuddling up for some attention, playing with his favorite toys, or performing one of his tricks, Mochi is always eager to show his love and devotion. When Mochi first arrived, he didn't know how to walk on a leash, but with patience and treats, he's been making progress. He's still learning to walk calmly, so his new family will need to continue working with him to help him master leash walking, but he's definitely on the right track. Mochi also loves his daily walks and outdoor exploration, as that's when he does his potty breaks. He only toilets outdoors, so he absolutely needs at least three walks a day to stay happy, healthy, and comfortable.
His playful nature shines through in everything he does. Mochi is full of energy and loves his playtime-he'll nibble on his toys, or even on furniture, to get your attention, and he's always up for a good game. His favorite treats are knot bones, chicken treats, home-cooked meals, and dental chews, and he's more than happy to work for a tasty reward. He's also picked up some impressive tricks during our foster period-he now knows "sit," "paw paw," "down," "up," "crawl," "wait," and "ok"! Watching him perform these tricks is always a highlight, and he's proud to show them off when a treat is involved.
Mochi is a dog who absolutely deserves the best home. He's friendly with other dogs, though he's selective about his dog friends - he gets along best with calm, friendly dogs who share his playful spirit. He hasn't been tested with cats or kids yet, so we think a home with other dogs that suit his temperament would be ideal. He can be left alone for a couple of hours and is totally fine with it, but he's not been tested with longer periods of alone time, so a family where someone is around for part of the day would be best. Mochi has come so far in his foster journey, and he's such a sweet, loving, and well-behaved dog. He truly deserves a home where he will be cherished, where he can get all the attention, walks, playtime, and love he needs. If you're looking for a loyal, energetic, and affectionate
