Copper is such a loving dog and is very comfortable being cuddled up on the sofa at home. He does need an experienced dog owner to deal with his high prey drive and someone who can give him the time he needs. He is a very big puller on the lead, is not suitable for families with young children as his behaviour can be unpredictable with someone who isn’t confident with dogs. He does currently with another dog but is reactive to other dogs outside the home so he would be best as a lone dog (unless you local enough to get the dogs known to each other).

He needs a home with a large garden and space so he can play. He will need experienced owners who are willing to tell him off and be that dominant owner. The perfect home for him would be somewhere either on a farm as he is not reactive to any sort of wild stock (sheep, cows, horses) or has a space where he doesn’t necessarily need a lead walk around the local area. Copper must have someone who has experience with reactive dogs and who can manage those everyday situations.

As his owner, I personally feel like I have done all I can for him, however it has come to the point where I am no longer able to cope. I am more than willing to do anything to keep him in my life, but I am also willing to rehome him to someone who is looking for a companion. I am open and honest about Copper and he isn’t (at the moment) the sort of dog you can just walk through a busy public space as he is nervous towards people that approach him. I must say that he is the MOST loving dog within the home and around his circle of trust and will want nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa. He loves to lie on his back in bed with you and is very very affectionate.

I will be wanting a phased rehoming so he can learn to trust his new owners and I will be wanting to see his new home to ensure that he is suitable for your home. He is currently on AVA dry food, fully vaccinated, monthly flea and wormer and has no known health issues.
