Blossom is a beautiful, sweet-natured ex-racing greyhound who is ready to leave her racing days behind and blossom into the beloved family companion she was always meant to be.

True to her name, Blossom has a gentle and affectionate spirit. She can be a little timid at first, especially in new situations, and tends to show a submissive side. But once she feels safe and knows she's among friends, her warm, personable nature 'blossoms' - she loves being around her people and will quietly win your heart with her soft eyes and kind demeanor.

Blossom would be happy as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the love and attention, or she could also with a calm, medium-to-large-sized dog friend who can help show her the ropes. She would also suit a home with children aged 10 and up who can understand her gentle and sometimes shy personality.

Like all greyhounds, Blossom has some special needs her future family should be mindful of. Greyhounds are sensitive, elegant dogs who thrive on companionship, regular gentle exercise, and a comfy spot to stretch out and snooze (usually on your couch or bed if you let them!). They have thin coats and low body fat, so they feel the cold more than other dogs and need to be kept warm in winter. Despite their reputation as racers, greyhounds are actually calm and laid-back at home - they're sprinters, not marathoners, and are perfectly happy with a daily walk and lots of nap time.
